Speeding Up Vaccinations Reduce Admissions To Covid 19 Wards
As the pace of vaccinations is enhanced and the public is showing greater commitment to health requirements, informed sources in the Ministry of Health revealed that the positive indicators continue to improve in terms of facing the epidemic, Al Qabas daily reported.
The sources highlighted this improvement stating there was a relative decrease in the admission numbers for Coronavirus patients to Covid 19 wards in some public hospitals, as the number decreased to 216 the day before yesterday, compared to 251 cases on 28 March.
The number of patients in the Covid 19 wards on December 28, 2020 reached 42 cases, compared to 77 patients in November 2020, compared to 107 at the end of last October. These low rates indicate that a large number of patients have been treated successfully, and fewer numbers have died from the coronavirus. However, the epidemiological situation is still in a stage of instability so far, which is why the public is still required to continue to follow health requirements.
The sources noted that after 4 months of the vaccination campaign, indicators showed a decrease in the rates of admittance to Covid 19 wards and ICU for the category of chronic diseases and the elderly in particular, and an increase in large segments of society.
It noted that large numbers of citizens and expats did not register on the vaccination platform to receive the anti-virus vaccinations. The rapid spread of the virus requires more preventive measures from the general population, such as getting vaccinated and avoiding gatherings and contacts.
