Special Biometric Scanning Center For Oil Workers

29 May 2023 Kuwait

The Kuwait Oil Company Workers Union recently announced the establishment of a dedicated center for conducting biometric fingerprint procedures for all workers in the oil sector. This initiative aims to enhance security measures and streamline employee identification processes. The designated center is conveniently located at the Petroleum and Petrochemical Workers Union Center in Ahmadi, ensuring easy accessibility for oil industry personnel.

Bio-metric Fingerprint Procedures:
In line with the Kuwait Oil Company Workers Union's efforts to bolster security protocols, the implementation of bio-metric fingerprint procedures marks a significant step forward. By capturing and storing unique biometric data, such as fingerprints, the oil sector can ensure accurate identification and verification of its workforce. This technology is highly reliable and difficult to counterfeit, providing an added layer of protection against unauthorized access and potential security threats.

Convenience for Citizens and Residents:
The Interior Ministry of Kuwait has emphasized that citizens and residents can depart from the country without undergoing the bio-metric scan. They have the option to complete the procedure upon their return to Kuwait. This flexibility allows individuals to travel freely without any inconvenience, ensuring a smooth transition for those who may not have had the opportunity to complete the process beforehand.

Designated Centers for Bio-metric Scans:
To facilitate the bio-metric fingerprint procedures, four centers have been designated across Kuwait. These centers are strategically located in Jahra, Ali Sabah Al-Salem, West Mishref, and Farwaniya. The centers in Jahra, Ali Sabah Al-Salem, and West Mishref operate 24 hours a day, ensuring round-the-clock availability for workers. The Farwaniya center operates from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, accommodating those who prefer daytime appointments.

Booking Appointments:
To streamline the process and minimize waiting times, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior has introduced an online platform called 'Meta' for booking appointments. This convenient system allows individuals to schedule their bio-metric scans at their preferred center and time slot, enhancing efficiency and reducing congestion at the centers. By utilizing the Meta platform, workers can conveniently secure an appointment that aligns with their schedule, ensuring a seamless experience.

The Kuwait Oil Company Workers Union's initiative to implement biometric fingerprint procedures for oil sector workers highlights the commitment to enhanced security measures. With the dedicated center at the Petroleum and Petrochemical Workers Union Center in Ahmadi, workers can conveniently complete their bio-metric scans. The Interior Ministry's flexibility in allowing citizens and residents to undergo the procedure upon their return further ensures convenience. The designated centers, operating around the clock and utilizing the Meta online platform for appointments, contribute to a streamlined process. Ultimately, this implementation strengthens security and improves the identification and verification of workers within the Kuwaiti oil sector.
