Speaker Calls For Thursday Session

National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim declared that he had addressed invitations to the MPs to hold a session on Thursday to examine the State financial status. Al-Ghanim, in a statement on Sunday, said the session would begin at 9 a.m. (Kuwait local time). Meanwhile, MP Muhammad Hadi Al- Hewaila submitted a proposal to establish three hospitals for the employees at the National Guard, Kuwait Firefighting Force (KFF) and Ministry of Interior.

According to the proposal, these hospitals shall offer services in all specializations; including an advanced laboratory. This is in addition to a department tasked to conduct researches on diseases common among employees at the National Guard and burn burn injuries among KFF employees. The employees will undergo regular medical check ups and they will continue receiving health care after retirement. The hospital for workers at the Ministry of Interior will also serve their families. The medical records of employees will be stored in individual files which will not be revealed to anyone as per the related regulations. Whoever reveals the medical data of employees will be imprisoned for three months maximum and fined KD1,000 to KD5,000 or any of these two penalties.

The Ministry of Public Works, in coordination with its health counterpart and other concerned institutions, will allocate the sites for the proposed hospitals. The construction of these hospitals will be under the supervision and monitoring of the Ministry of Public Works until the completion of these projects, which will be handed over to the Ministry of Health. MP Osama Al-Shaheen submitted a proposal to grant KD300 allowance per month to the workers at the Industrial Waste Department in the Public Authority for Industry (PAI). MP Ali Al-Qattan proposed the formation of a committee whose members are from the Municipal Council, Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART), and the concerned public and private institutions. The committee will lay down a strategy for combating desertification, present ways to reduce the temperature, and protect farms and remote residential areas from dust storms and quicksand.

The committee will also determine the best ways to use rainwater and establish the green wall to protect different areas from quicksand. MP Muhannad Al-Sayer unveiled his plan to submit a proposal to prioritize the grilling motions against the ministers over that of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid. He affirmed that a number of his colleagues have signed the proposal and he is still presenting it to his other colleagues to obtain their support. He said the proposal will be included in the agenda of the session for July 6, 2021. He explained that his objective is to start with the grilling of ministers and end with the no-confidence motion for the government to realize its actual situation.
