Social Media User Jailed For Spreading Rumors

The Public Prosecutor has issued a decision to imprison the Kuwaiti tweeter for 21 days at the Central Prison for spreading false news during the current exceptional situation which has emerged due to coronavirus.

According to Al-Qabas Arabic newspaper report, the citizen had published on his personal account Twitter, that there are dozens of people who arrived recently from a country are infected with coronavirus and are being treated at the Jaber Hospital.

The report said that the prosecution will not tolerate rumors and that prosecutors work 24 hours a day in these circumstances, whether from their offices or from their homes.
