Social Media Ads Should Be Regulated By Mp
A proposal for a bill to control advertising activities on social networking sites was made by five parliamentarians.
MPs Muhannad Al-Sayer, Abdul-Mudhaf, Dr. Badr Al-Mulla, Dr. Hassan Gohar, and Muhalhal Al-Mudhaf proposed that anybody who engages in advertising activities on his or her own account or otherwise acquire a license from the ministry first. This is also true of adverts that are shared on social media platforms. The account holder is also liable for the content of his account, according to the suggestion.
Parliamentarians highlighted that, with corporations and suppliers increasingly relying on well-known social media platforms for advertising, a law regulating such activities is required. The goal of the law is to protect both parties' rights and to create a healthy and adequate economic environment for advertising on social networking sites on the Internet.
The law lays out a number of requirements for obtaining a license to engage in advertising on social networking sites. It is also illegal to post on social media any promotional material that offends national unity, incites racial, sectarian, or factional violence, or contains an immoral act.
