Social Assistance For Those Stranded Abroad … No Deduction
The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor instructed the Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Maryam Al-Aqeel, to take into account those who are entitled to social assistance who were stranded abroad during the lockdown period and not to deduct from their dues.
The ministry stated that in order to be entitled to assistance, the applicant residence in Kuwait must be proved reports Al Rai. The individual is considered as a resident in Kuwait if his stay continued for a period of 275 consecutive or separate days during the year. If stay exceeds 90 days outside the country the aid will be deducted. If the stay exceeds 180 days outside the country then the suspension and recovery are done for a period exceeding 90 days.
Due to the exceptional circumstances the country has gone through which led to the closure of the air and land ports, which caused the inability of some aid recipients to return, the Minister directed, taking into account the exceptional circumstances of this category of beneficiaries, not to count the period from 1st March to 31st May, as a period of stay outside the country, for cases that receive social assistance from the ministry during the closing of the outlets, so as not to result in the recovery or suspension of the assistance, due to their instability.
