Smuggling Of Subsidised Foods Is Prevented By Customs

Customs authorities have seized 170 powdered milk tins being smuggled out of the country.

As reported by a local Arabic daily, the Director General of the General Department of Customs has issued strict orders to check and inspect all export shipments to prevent subsidized food items from being smuggled out.

The seized goods have been turned over to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's Supply Department. Legal procedures have been initiated against the suspects.
