Report Minor Traffic Accidents Through Mobile App
According to Al-Qabas daily, the parliament's Internal Affairs and Defense Committee has approved a proposal to create a smartphone application on the Ministry of Interior's website, through which motorists can report minor traffic accidents by photographing the accident, entering the vehicle numbers involved in the accident, and receiving an accident report via email or SMS.
MP Muhammad Al-Huwailah noted in his proposal that small traffic accidents (without any injuries) are one of the reasons for traffic congestion because the parties engaged in the accident refuse to move their cars until a patrol team arrives at the scene of the accident. Accident reporting processes must be simple and straightforward.
It is also vital to make use of technological advancements in the sphere of communications, such as the use of cell phones to report minor traffic accidents by photographing the scene and receiving the report by email, as many nations do.
This solution will surely save the security authorities and stakeholders a significant amount of time and effort. It will also reduce the problem of small traffic accidents causing traffic congestion by dealing with them according to the process that demands the arrival of a traffic patrol team at the accident scene.
