Despite its excellent structure, the Expatriate Labor Examination Center in Shuwaikh has become overcrowded as ex-pats return after a hiatus of many months caused by the Covid-19 epidemic and Kuwaiti limitations.

Daily, 2,000 workers are inspected, according to a local Arabic newspaper quoting a center administrator. "We receive domestic employees from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and then we receive company workers from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., yet despite this, the pressure is enormous and congestion still persists," stated a center administrator.

"There are currently four examination centers covering all regions with hundreds of staff members," he said, adding that "doubling these centres is a matter of time and in the hands of the Ministry of Health according to available capabilities." He also stressed that "the intensity of overcrowding has decreased during the past few days compared to initial stages and it will decrease s."

Meanwhile, an education source informed the newspaper that overcrowding at labour examination centers has caused delays in the employment of 232 cleaners who sought for positions with the Ministry of Education and that the same problem is being experienced by foreign schools.

According to the source, the delay affects not only private firms, but all sections of the country that require people.
