Shipping Offices Resume Running Their Trucks
The shipping and travel offices resumed preparing their truck trips that transport cars, luggage and other non-foodstuffs to start operating them to Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and the GCC countries after the land borders were closed for more than 4 months.
Officials in these offices told that they were informed of the opening of the land borders in front of trucks to exit Kuwait, through Saudi Arabia, transit, or that aims to deliver goods to Saudi cities, and it would be their final stop.
However, it was stored pending the decision to open the borders, which was expected in August based on the instructions of the Saudi authorities and the coordination between them and the Kuwaiti side. Land freight was open only to vehicles shipping food, basic and raw materials and medical supplies, while there were procedures this month to allow cars returning from Jordan through the exchange at the Saudi-Jordanian borders with Saudi carriers
