Shiite Scholar Should Be Deported, Mps Call

31 July 2022 Kuwait

According to Ahmed Mutei Al-Azmi, Fayez Al-Jomhour and Abdullah Al-Turaiji, the relevant authorities, mainly the Ministry of Interior, should immediately deport Iranian Shiite scholar Ahmed Al-Sherazi for repeatedly insulting the Companions (Sahaba) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and humiliating the Sunni icons.

According to the MPs, such an attitude undermines national unity and threatens national security. As a result, this took place alongside the Shiite celebrations commemorating the martyrdom of Husain - grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) - in the first ten days of the month of Muharram.

Hisham Al-Saleh, a Shiite MP, criticized such calls, saying that his three colleagues were provoking the public in order to gain electoral advantage.

On the occasion of Throne Day, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim sent cables to Speaker of the House of Councillors of Morocco Al Naam Miyara and Speaker of the House of Representatives Rashid Talbi Alami.
