Saudi Intercepts 5 Houthi Drones In New Attack

14 June 2019 International

The Royal Saudi Air Defense Force and Air Force have successfully intercepted and dropped five drone aircraft launched by the Houthi militia on Friday morning aimed at Abha International Airport and Khamis Mushait province, a spokesperson for the Coalition said in a statement released by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

He said that air traffic and airspace at Abha International Airport are operating normally, and there is no delay in flights.

He added that the Houthi terrorist organisation is trying to target civilian facilities in desperate and repeated attempts, without achieving any of their irresponsible and hostile objectives. “We affirm our legitimate right to take appropriate measures to conform with international humanitarian law and its customary rules,” he said.
