Saudi Development Struggle Continues

04 January 2019 Article

DUE to the fact that modernization and development do not allow any delay, the recent royal orders issued by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz came to ascertain that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is moving ahead towards the future.

These orders also affirmed that the Kingdom pays no attention to whatever dust raised around it through a series of lies – the perpetual trait of several information media outlets whose objectives, funding and tendencies are known. Looking into the curriculum vitae of the recently appointed princes, ministers and offi- cials; one realizes the extent of the deliberation process to choose them based on foresight in relation to the number of Saudi’s ministries and institutions.

All of the appointees announced their open door policies in order to maintain direct communication between the leaders and the people. They learned this under the supervision of King Salman since his tenure as Prince of Riyadh. The open door policy has become the main trait of the ruling class in the Kingdom.

In addition, a group of officials were nurtured in the Royal Diwan. They know how to interpret the instructions and orders of the Kingdom’s leadership inspired by the method that King Salman adopted in his administration and rule. Undoubtedly, the Gulf culture is based on norms and traditions, such as the ruler and officials are close to the people irrespective of their ranks, while love and mercy are prevalent among them.

This is due to the fact that they are used to each means of communication without any obstacles. They are also used to realizing reasons behind the decisions made by their leaders and officials; hence, no official today will operate outside the guidelines that his predecessors used. Moreover, there is no doubt that the Kingdom’s leadership is keen on achieving the ‘Vision 2030’ up to the extent of going through several curves to eliminate the burden imposed by bureaucracy which the country has been enduring for years.

However, this necessitates someone with scientific and realistic views in order to avoid loopholes which could impede the transition to modernity that is suitable for the Gulf’s engine in terms of economy and politics.

Therefore, the selection of this group of princes, ministers and officials to execute plans and strategies of the Kingdom means they are fully aware of the needs of their country and the aspirations of the people. It is safe to say then that pumping new blood for the leadership to work with is the core of the major and pioneering development plan. Without any doubt, this plan will have a positive impact on the region as a whole, because whatever transpires in the Kingdom affects the Gulf and the entire Arab world.
