Saudi And Uae Complain About Medical Products Promoted In Wrong Way From Kuwait
Pharmacology researcher Dr Yousif Shams Al-Dein said some pharmacists in neighboring countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are complaining about some medical products which are being promoted in a wrong manner and transferred to them from Kuwait by post, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Speaking to the daily, Al-Dein called for the establishment of a unit in the Ministry of Health to electronically control the promotion of medicines and delete accounts that disseminate information deemed harmful to public health, similar to the practice in other countries.
He added the decree which was used as basis for referring some celebrities to the prosecution has been in effect since 2002, stressing the need for the ministry to activate its role in holding liable those who spread wrong medical information – whether social media celebrities, doctors or pharmacists – because they could present false and harmful information to the public.
On the other hand, Manager of National Bank of Kuwait Specialized Hospital Dr Maitham Hussein has warned about the spread of medical products promoted by unspecialized doctors. He urged the public not to believe any information without verifying it from experts or authorized sources
