“saddam Hussein” Of Bangladesh Imprisoned For 3 Yrs; Kuwaiti Acquitted

The Cassation Court upheld the ruling of the appeals court to 3 yrs imprisonment for a Bangladeshi expat named “Saddam Hussein” working for bribery and acquitted a Kuwaiti employee working in the Traffic Department of Ahmadi Governorate. 


The Kuwaiti employee was accused of accepting gifts to complete transactions for renewing the driving license of vehicles for a sum between 5 KD to 10 KD, the Bangladeshi was just a middleman. During investigation the Ministry of Interior found that the Bangladeshi had received more than KD 30,000 and had remitted KD 15,000 to Bangladesh. 


The Kuwaiti employee was acquitted as her defense confirmed that no material/cash was found with her. She was not present at the crime scene at the time of arrest and it was just an allegation  by the Bangladeshi, there was no evidence.
