Rumors On Abolishing Of Sponsorship System Is False

Kuwaiti Undersecretary for Social Affairs Abdulaziz Shuaib denied any truth on what was reported by some media outlets on Wednesday about a plan by Social affairs to abolish the sponsorship (Kafeel) system, stressing that this information is completely false.

Shuaib said in a press statement that the Minister of Social Affairs and the Minister of State for Economic Affairs Maryam al-Aqeel did not submit a proposal to this plan to the Council of Ministers, explaining that the matter is nothing more than a study received in this regard and the ministry of Social Affairs has requested that it be referred to the competent state authorities
