Resumption Of Studies For The Second Semester August 9 - Ku

The Kuwait University Council approved in its meeting this morning, Tuesday, headed by Acting Director of Kuwait University Dr.. Fayez Al-Dhafiri proposed changes to the university’s academic calendar after the school vacation approved by the Council of Ministers due to the emerging Corona virus crisis.

School year dates

The spokesperson for the University of Kuwait, Secretary-General of the University Dr. Muthanna Al-Rifai said that the University Council had approved the proposed amendments to the academic calendar for the academic year 2020/2019, with the study to resume to complete the second semester on August 9, 2020, to be completed next October.

The council also set the beginning of the exceptional summer semester on October 11 and its end with the last final exam on November 17.

And for the first semester of the year 2021/2020, the Council set its beginning on the next December 26 and ends on March 17, 2021 and the announcement of final grades on March 21 of next year.

The second semester will start on April 2, 2021 and end on July 13, 2021, with the summer semester being on August 1, 2021 and ending on September 21, 2021.

The academic calendar proposal for the academic year 2021/2020 was also approved for all university colleges, law school, and the colleges of the Medical Sciences Center.

Acceptance rules

Al-Rifai added that the proposal of the Deanship of Admission and Registration was approved regarding the basic rules for admission and transfer at Kuwait University for the academic year 2021/2020.

Al-Rifai said that the university’s council continued the transition and phased operation plan for Sabah Al-Salem University City, where the Supreme Committee to follow up on the transition to Sabah Al-Salem University City was tasked with amending the third stage of the transitional and phased operation plan of the university city, in light of the reports submitted to it from the construction program, indicating It was emphasized that continuing to teach in laboratories and workshops for the Faculties of Science, Engineering and Petroleum are in the current locations until the laboratories are equipped in Sabah Al-Salem University City.

Al-Rifai indicated that the university’s council has approved a proposal by some colleges to upgrade 38 faculty members to the rank of professor and associate professor from various colleges, 19 from the human and social colleges and 19 from the practical colleges.
