Residency Violators May Be Allowed To Leave Kuwait Without Paying Fines
The Ministry of Interior has announced its decision that illegal expats, whose residence has expired, can leave the country without paying fines with the possibility of returning to Kuwait, reported Al Qabas daily.
Illegal expats may be allowed to complete the travel procedures without obtaining approval from their sponsor/company, according to sources that pointed out the Ministry of Interior submitted a letter to Cabinet Ministers regarding the recommendation. This is not applicable to expats wanted by security authorities and has a travel ban placed against him/her.
The sources pointed out that the cabinet will make its decision based on the recommendation by the Ministry of Interior while understanding the current situation affecting the country. According to the document, residency violators will be given a timeframe to leave the country, failing which they will be subjected to legally established penalties and will be deported from the country and not be allowed to return.
Security sources also stated to Al Qabas that this deadline is expected to benefit more than 200,000 illegal expats, who are absconding.
