Residences Eyed For Workers
The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has requested Kuwait Municipality to allot sites for the accommodation of expatriates who will work in the construction of approximately 30,000 housing units in Mutla’a and South Abdullah Al-Mubarak residential areas, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily obtained a copy of PAM’s letter to the Municipality, in which it affirmed its commitment to ensure the provision of a safe and decent health environment for workers in accordance with international standards that will be reflected in the quality of workers’ productivity; as well as to improve the development process for all private companies and institutions complying with regulations on occupational health and safety.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Justice asked the Municipality to allocate two sites to construct buildings for the Experts Affairs Department in Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorates. In its letter to the Municipality, the ministry disclosed that the organizational structure of the department has been modified and it has become a public administration which is currently operating in rented buildings in the two governorates. It clarified these buildings are not enough for the new structure, vision and growing needs of the department; hence, the need for the construction of separate buildings for the department in the two governorates.
