Reiterates Respect Of All Faiths Within Framework Of Law - Moi
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Friday reiterated the State's respect of all religions, and keenness on providing a climate of religious tolerance and freedom within the framework of law and public morals.
"Kuwait is the country of coexistence and toleration," Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid stressed during a tour of churches and other Christian places of worship to inspect security and traffic measures for New Year celebrations.
It added that the minister urged provision of security and peacefulness for the Christian sects in the country.
He was also informed of commitment by leaders of churches and Christian sects to the preventive instructions and guidelines and precautionary measures previously announced and reiterated by the ministry and security bodies.
Meanwhile, leaders of churches and Christian sects as well as many expats have highly appreciated the State of Kuwait and the sincere efforts "around the clock" by the Interior Minister and security bodies during all occasions, which allows followers of all faiths to practise their rituals in an atmosphere of freedom and tolerance.
