Reduce Rush – Cut Curfew Hours
Chairperson of the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies Fahd Al-Kashti has called for reducing the partial curfew period from 12 hours to 10 hours – from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am, and amend the shopping times in cooperative societies through the barcode system to be from 7:00 pm to 12:00 midnight in the event of reducing the duration of the curfew by two hours, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Al-Kashti explained that the goals of this proposal are to reduce congestion in shopping centers and traffic jams, as well as lessen pressure on cooperatives by increasing the number of shopping hours outside the partial curfew hours and during curfew through the appointment system, while ensuring the implementation of social distancing and other health regulations. He also suggested allowing restaurants in cooperative societies to deliver orders within five hours of the curfew – from 7:00 pm to 12:00 midnight – in the residential areas where the cooperatives are located.
