Record Number Of Coronavirus Cases And Increased Rate Of Vaccination In Kuwait

The number of Coronavirus cases in Kuwait soared to new heights. 1935 new cases of coronavirus cases were recorded in one day, it is the highest number of cases since the arrival of the virus in Kuwait in February 2020, Al-Rai daily reported.

The percentage of infections for the number of daily swabs reached 14.3 percent. The Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah briefed the Cabinet on the latest developments in the health situation in the country, which is witnessing remarkable instability in recent times.


The minister further explained that vaccination will achieve herd immunity and he further stressed the safety and effectiveness of approved vaccines in Kuwait.

In the context of accelerating the speed of vaccination against the emerging Coronavirus, which coincides with the recent decisions to allow only vaccinated people to travel to Kuwait and enter restaurants and malls, Health sources revealed to the daily that the Kuwait Vaccination Center in the exhibition grounds achieved a record number of vaccination rates yesterday. It is the highest since the campaign began in late December of last year, with thousands of citizens and residents flocking to receive the vaccine.

The continued increase in vaccination rates during the coming period, with the arrival of a new shipment of the Oxford vaccine platform, the fourth since the start of the supply of vaccines from this platform, containing 280,000 doses, in addition to the arrival of the first shipment of the Pfizer vaccine through the Global Alliance. Vaccines and immunization platform “Gavi”, and weekly shipments that arrive successively periodically to the country.

The sources reported that 30 primary care centers continued to provide the service, in addition to the Kuwait Vaccination Center on the exhibition grounds, with the Jaber Bridge Center continuing to provide its services via cars.

The Ministry of Health launched yesterday the fourth phase of the campaign of mobile field units for vaccination.

The Director of the Primary Health Care Department, Dr. Dina Al-Dhubaib, stated that the fourth phase targets workers of companies that provide consumer services, fuel companies, guard and security companies, and public transport companies.
