During the first 15 days of Ramadan, Kuwait experienced more than 5,959 traffic accidents, an average of 400 per day.

It is reported in the Al Rai newspaper that 3,034 accidents happened before the end of the fast, and 2,925 happened after iftar.

The Traffic Control Department's Captain Khaled Abdullah Al Fraih reminded all motorists to adhere to traffic laws, which include wearing a seatbelt, not using mobile phones while driving, and not speeding, particularly before the Maghreb call to prayer.

Over 836 security cameras have been installed across the country along with mobile devices to monitor roads, according to Al Fraih.
