Raids On Mirqab, Salhiya, Bneid Al-gar And Kuwait City Cafes
Officials from Kuwait Municipality carried out an intensive campaign, raiding 19 café joints and restaurants in Mirqab, Salhiya, Bneid Al-Gar and Kuwait City areas. The campaign resulted in the administrative closure of 11 café joints, issuance of 30 citations over violations and signing of 8 undertakings for implementation of the rules and regulations concerning the operation of shops.
The officials carried out the campaign based on directives from Minister of Communications and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Essa Al-Kandari, who instructed them to be firm against the abuse of operational licenses issued to café joints and restaurants.
They affirmed that the raids will continue until the closed shops and cabins are ready to abide by rules and regulations. Head of Capital Governorate’s Emergency Team Tareq Al-Qattan led the campaign with the support of the Director of Patrol Operations at the Capital Security Directorate Lieutenant Colonel Nayef Al-Hajraf and Salhiya Police Station Chief Lieutenant Colonel Sheikh Khalid Hamad Al-Khalid. He declared that the officials destroyed 40 kilograms of spoiled meat, cheese and tobacco. They also caught some minors below 13 years of age inside some café joints late at night. Their parents were notified of the incident after the children pleaded with the officers not to detain them.
