Raid On Home In Surra Finds Marijuana Grown In Garden

Narcotics department of MOI raided a house in the Surra area and found  marijuana farm. Captagon and 50 grams of hashish, as well as 7 marijuana seedlings the defendant admitted to bringing in through air freight from a country which produces such crops.

According to a security source an information was received about one of the houses in Surra area which cultivates marijuana, investigation was carried out which confirmed the validity of information and permission was sorted to raid the house and arrest the culprits. A Kuwaiti citizen in 40’s was caught along with his friend. The second accused was caught with a small tree in his garden with 7 seedlings of marijuana.


When asked if they were doing trade? they said it was for personal use. The security source considered the statements of the defendants an attempt to evade the punishment of trafficking, reports Al Anba. They were referred to the prosecution on charges of possessing drugs with the intent to abuse, if the court finds them guilty they may be sentenced to imprisonment for a certain number of years. As per security sources these men have been trading with drugs for some time.
