The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport is awaiting budget clearance before starting construction on three major road and highway development projects.

According to a local Arabic newspaper, the three development projects include the Fourth Ring Road, the Fahaheel Expressway, and the third segment of the First Ring Road, all of which are aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in the inner districts.

According to PART sources, a meeting with the Ministry of Finance will take place this week, during which the nature of the work on the projects will be prioritized.

Ali Al-Qazwini, the engineer for the city service of Al-roads Mutla'a's and junction’s project, disclosed that the pace of completion is roughly 84.3 percent ahead of schedule. The project's contractual worth is 108 million dinars, according to Al-Qazwini, and it is slated to be finished next February, according to the contract's deadline.

The project entails expanding Abdali Road from three to five lanes in each direction, as well as building infrastructure and services networks, as well as constructing a multi-free junction bridge levels with Al Mutlaa City, a vehicle tunnel beneath the new road, and a pedestrian crossing.

The Corona epidemic, and the subsequent lack of employees, resources, and mechanisms scheduled to be employed in the project, were the most significant impediments, according to Al-Qazwini, as was the incompatibility of some current services belonging to specific organizations and ministries with the project's operation.

He noted that the authority has collaborated with many parties since the start of the project to overcome obstacles and complete it on time, including the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, which was in charge of facilitating and ensuring traffic movement to and from the residential city of Al-Mutla'a during the project's implementation, as well as connecting the project's roads and services with city roads and services.

He said that the Kuwait Oil Company, the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Ministry of Communication, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Kuwait Municipality all worked together to monitor the work on road signs and the surrounding land and residential areas.
