Preparations For Total Lockdown Are Proceeding In Khaitan And Farwaniya

Forces from the defense and the National Guard are entrusted with initiating the total lockdown of the mentioned area especially in Khaitan and Farawaniya regions. All entrances and exits will be cordoned off with barbed wire barriers similar to Jleeb area. This is to prevent people sneaking out as was reported earlier, and patrols on foot will be watchful of the residents remaining in the quarantine areas. The residents are allowed to move between 6 am and 6 pm only within their areas that are under lockdown, and during curfew hours, they are obligated to remain at their residences.

Kuwait Government decided on Thursday, to impose a lockdown on new areas because of a surge in coronavirus cases. The government decided to impose lockdown on Farwaniya with exception of areas between Streets: 60, 120, 502 and 129.

Blocks four, six, seven, eight and nine of Khaitan will be under lockdown, while the whole of Hawally, Nuqra and Maidan Hawally would be closed, said Al-Mezrem. The lockdown on Mahboula and Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh would continue.

The government will provide food, health care and gas cylinders for cooking for the inhabitants of the areas under lockdown.
