Pollution From Illegal Factories Ruining Eshairej And Sulaibikhat Bay

Due to the deteriorating conditions in Eshairej area, the issue will be referred to the Cabinet for taking a decision over a three-month schedule to evacuate factories in the area that are unlicensed, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting informed sources.

They explained that the decision will be implemented through coordination between the Cabinet and the concerned state bodies such as Ministry of Communications, Kuwait Municipality, Public Authority for Industry, Environment Public Authority, and Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources.

Analyses of the water and soil samples taken from Eshairej and Sulaibikhat Bay were conducted by British laboratories CEFAS and EPA which revealed increase in the harmful substances and poisonous minerals such as petroleum hydrocarbons and harmful industrial waste
