Police Have Arrested 3 Army Officers For Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol And Insulting Police
The Hawally police have arrested three army officers, a First Lieutenant and two lieutenants for driving under the infl uence of alcohol, insulting police on duty and misusing the telephone, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said a police patrol on routine duty stopped the officers for reckless driving in Salmiya and two of them attacked a police man while the third used his cell phone to film the incident. Several police patrols rushed to the scene of the incident and referred the three officers to the area police station for interrogation following which they were referred to the military police.
The source said the three officers looked disoriented. Police have also seized from the men bottles containing some liquid believed to be alcohol and referred them to Forensics for a blood test. Upon instructions of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant-General Mahmoud Al- Dosari, a detailed report shall be sent to the Defense Ministry. In a similar story, a Kuwaiti man seen beating a police officer in a now-viral video was arrested late on Thursday, Al Anba newspaper reported. The footage captured a car chase that had ensued on a highway.

The video sparked outrage on social media, with hundreds calling on authorities to take action. Amid the intense backlash towards the man’s actions, authorities announced he was arrested. According to Al Anba, the defendant is now in police custody and will soon be referred to prosecution.
