Plenty Of Vacancies In Oil Sector
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has a total of 1,538 vacancies during the 2020/2021 fiscal year as part of the budget that was approved last week by the Parliament’s Budgets and Final Account Committee, reports Al-Anba daily quoting reliable sources from the oil sector.
They explained that the number of employees registered in the budget of KPC and its subsidiaries for the new fiscal year is estimated at 22,300. This is an increase of 0.5 percent compared to what was estimated in the previous fiscal year.
A total of 20,700 employees currently occupy jobs in the oil sector. Kuwait Oil Company has the largest share of occupied jobs with about 11,500 employees. The company has 214 vacancies and will create 417 new jobs, bringing the total workforce of the company to 12,180 employees.
As for the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), it has 6,300 occupied positions and 710 vacancies. From this, 205 positions will be canceled, thereby bringing the total workforce in the company to 6,800.
In the Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), the number of positions that are occupied is 337, and the number of vacancies 228. The company will cancel 140 positions this year, which will bring the total workforce to 425.
The Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) has 651 occupied positions and 85 vacancies. The company intends to cancel 20 positions, which will bring the total workforce to 716.
The main office of KPC has 688 positions that are currently occupied and 170 vacancies. It intends to abolish 25 positions, such that the total workforce will be 833.
As for the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC), it has 1,170 occupied positions and 132 vacancies. The company will provide 81 new jobs, thereby bringing its total workforce to 1,380 employees.
