Government seeks to recover stolen public funds through several monitoring, statistical and investigative methods as shown in official documents that prove cases and reports of public funds violations until April 2020, reports Al-Nahar daily.
The documents included in the report of the committee in charge of following up public funds since April 2020, which the Minister of Justice submitted to the Speaker of the National Assembly, showed that 38 government agencies witnessed an infringement of public funds, as they recorded 405 cases and 7 communications estimated at half a billion dinars for cases of known value, while a large number of cases are of unknown value for various reasons, including the non-completion of their assessment and investigation.
Among the things noteworthy in the documents of the aforementioned cases is the existence of cyber fraud in Kuwait Petroleum Corporation valued at USD 150,000 while a case of USD 37,000 was recorded by Kuwait Investment Authority concerning the purchase of alcohol for one of its establishments.
