Minister of Commerce and Industry and acting State Minister of Youth Affairs Khalid Al-Roudan disclosed the referral of 38 members of Jahra Emergency Team to the Pubic Prosecution for allegedly using an alternative silicon fingerprint, says Al-Seyassah. The minister in a response to parliamentary questioning by MP Waleed Tabtabaei clarified that the incident required a circular to print out the photos of concerned staff during fingerprinting to serve as concrete evidence for their daily resumption and departure from office. He cited repeated situation of some employees playing with the fingerprint machine made him instruct the legal affairs department to carry out investigation in that regard. He declared that employees are legally required to resume and depart from the office at a specific time, which should be proven through fingerprinting or other means the administration finds suitable, in case the use of fingerprint system becomes impossible to implement at some point in time. He concluded the steps were taken in the interest of the public to ensure smooth flow of work.
