1) Grand Mosque

The main prayer hall is 72 metres wide on all sides, and has teakwood doors. Natural lighting is provided by 144 windows. Grand Mosque is an excellent model of Islamic architecture style. 3) Kuwait Zoo

Kuwait zoo

Kuwait Zoo has a large collection of rare and other animals. It contains a total number of 1606 animals including dangerous species. Besides this, rare birds are categorized in five different units and each category has at least 12 species. Spectacular environment is provided to animals in the cages. The park has a purpose to educate children about animals and the way how animals are treated.

5) Tareq Rajab Museum of Islamic Arts

Tareq Rajab Museum of Islamic Arts has a collection of past fifty years and there are over thirty thousand items that have been collected during these years. The collections are gathered from all over Islamic states, which includes artifacts and different photographs.  Out of this collection, there are thousands of items which are permanently displayed, other are displayed on specific oceans. There are two parts of museum. First, there is an Area A, which exhibits calligraphy, manuscript, miniatures, metalwork, and ceramic, glass, wood, jade and stone-carving. The other is Area B, which has a wide collection of objects produced in Islamic world during last 250 years like costumes, textiles, musical instrument and jewellery.

6) Mirror house

 

The mirror house is said to be the only house that is made entirely with Mirror. Glass work in different shapes and colours enlightens the hearts of visitors. It is always pleasant to visit the Mirror house. 7) Seif Palace

It is known as the home of Royal Family, Seif Palace has an amazing attraction for tourists.  The Seif Palace is a wonderful display of Islamic architecture in which tile work has its own uniqueness. Its artwork blows away the minds of visitors.  The best feature is watch tower, which is amazingly built by blue tiles and the roofs are plated in pure gold.  Although Seif Palace is only used as courts on the special events and celebrations, but thousands of visitors go to Seif Palace to see the charms of this excellent building.

8) 360 Mall

Located in Al Zahra, which is an area of Kuwait, is a luxurious place for shopping. 360 Mall is the 3rd biggest mall in Kuwait.  The architecture in Mall has touch of Middle Eastern culture. The solar garden is a unique beauty of 360 Mall which has about 21,000 plants that are grown in vertical wall and has a purpose of improving air and perform the role of bio-filter. 9) Green Island

Located off the coast of Kuwait City's promenade, the Green Island is an artificial island in Kuwait. Opened in February 1988,it is a popular tourist attraction, and a popular holiday retreat of Kuwait. Stretching from Al Shuwaikh to Ras Alard, the island spans an area of 785,000sqm, and is surrounded by natural rocks brought from Al-Fujairah to Emirates.Along the eastern side of the island, is a swimming pool, with a depth of 2.5m to 3m.The Island offers a range of entertainment options including an amphitheatre with a seating capacity for atleast 700 people.There is a 35m tall tourist tower in the island, with an overhead water tank. On standing atop the tower, visitors can catch a glimpse of the whole island.The tower also has a Kid’s Castle with several rooms, channels, corridors, spiral stairway and waterfalls.
On either side of the island, there is a restaurant and a well-equipped service centre. There is plenty of space and options to play games with family, including Soap-Football, playground for kids, inflatable bouncing castles, options to train ride, a good walking path, bicycle rent, and above all an opportunity for an outdoor picnic meal.

10) Bnaider  kite flying in Kuwait


Every Friday's the skies in Bnaider are treated to a colorful, soaring spectacle with roaring dragons, flying fishes and all the colors of the rainbow. The team has been flyingkites since the 1990s and organizes kiteflying activities every Friday during the winter months as well as an annual kite flying festival.This fluttering festival is the creation of Abdurahman Al-Farsi, president of the Al-Farsi Kite Flying Team. Al-Farsi is also the owner of the world’s largest kite, a giant manta ray. The team has been flying kites since the 1990s and organizes kite flying activities every Friday during the winter months as well as an annual kite flying festival.

The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre (JACC), informally known as the Kuwait Opera House, is a prominent cultural center in Kuwait, located on the Gulf Road in the capital Kuwait City. It is the largest cultural center and opera house in the Middle East. The cultural centre is part of the new Kuwait National Cultural District.The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre is a multidisciplinary public space owned by the Amiri Diwan striving to entertain, educate and inspire the people of Kuwait.It offers a range of events in music, theatre, film, workshops and spoken word for every generation and sector of society.JACC provides a space for dialogue to share and showcase skills and knowledge, giving younger voices a forum in which to speak.The cultural centre is a platform for educational and cultural exchange; moreover, it functions as an influential entertainment and culture powerhouse and productive space for the region.
The cultural complex, which includes theatres, concert halls, music centres, conference and exhibition halls, cinemas, libraries, center for historical documents, and public park, took two years to complete.

13) Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre

The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centreis a cultural complex located in Kuwait City, Kuwait owned by the Amiri Diwan. It consists of six main components; The Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Space Museum, Arabic Islamic Science Museum, Fine Arts Centre and the external spaces known as the Public Realm. The Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre is a 18-hectare site making it the world's largest museum complex.
The museum is named after the late Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah who was the 11th ruler of Kuwait, the first Amir and the founder of modern Kuwait.
The Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre creates a new museum district within Kuwait. Together with the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre, the cultural centre is part of the new Kuwait National Cultural District.
The museums present Kuwaiti, Islamic, and Arabic culture and history. They also embrace and showcase the rich diversity of the world's finest cultural achievements.]

14) Failaka Island

Failaka Island is a nice diversion from the hustle & bustle of Kuwait city, it is especially well suited for a family event. There is an archaeological site of interest that reveals many historical secrets of the island's importance. There is a zoological garden there. The sea breeze blowing over the island is also a welcome change from the heat on the mainland. Definitely, a nice day trip or weekend trip to getaway from the city.

15) Kubbar Islands


Kubbar is an island in Kuwait in the Persian Gulf,known for its beautiful blue water and sandy beaches. What makes the island so special are the flocks of birds and rare coral reefs which makes it an ideal place for diving. The island is nearly circular with a diameter of 370 to 380 meters.

16) Qaruh Island

Qaruh Island is an island belonging to the state of Kuwait, which received its name from the large amounts of petroleum sediments in the area. It is the smallest of the nine islands, and also the furthest island from the Kuwaiti mainland

17) Mubarakiya Old Market

This popular traditional market is located in Kuwait City, between Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Abdullah Al-Salem & Palestine Streets. This market has been around for at least 200 years. The market was damaged during the Iraqi invasion in 1990, however it was renovated and it got back its traditional flavour.
You can spend hours in this market strolling around and discovering reasonable bargains on heritage goods such as Persian silk carpets, real Arab antiques, perfumes like musk and oud, and traditional costumes. This place is perfect whether you want to shop, eat, or for sightseeing. Al-Mubarakiya features a variety of shops such as dates, honey, spices, sweets, vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish. In addition to a range of shops accessories, gold and silver jewelries. The market also hosts two mini museums: Sheikh Mubarak Kiosk and the first Islamic pharmacy in Kuwait, and admission is free.
There is a courtyard near Al-Bahar or Sea Mosque, where you can find traditional cafes brewing their teas over coals, and several small restaurants are lined-up where they serve authentic Arabic, Indian, Persian food to the customers in the open air. The prices are the cheapest in Kuwait. On hot summer days, water mist is sprayed from pipes over the tables to give you a cooling feeling. A children playground is nearby and shisha is also available.
