Philippine Embassy Opens Services To Filipinos At Hawally Disabled Club
The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait opened its services to Filipinos in Kuwait at The Disabled Club in Hawally. Consular services such as Passport renewal and extension, Authentication of documents, Registry of Birth for newly born children, Registry of Marriage, and Release of new passport. The mobile services kicked off on 17th of February, and timings are from 8 am till 3 pm and entry is limited to 250 Filipinos only. This mobile feature will be available for two months.
In a brief interview with the Philippine Ambassador His Excellency Mohammad Noordin Pendosina Lomondot, quoted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Public Authority for Manpower allowed the use of the facilities of the sports club for the embassy to be able to renew passports and for employers and employees not to pay penalties. Ambassador Lomondot added that the Embassy has already processed more than 10,000 passports during the recent walk in and appointment system held at the embassy recently and it hopes to process about 50,000 – 70,000 more passports in the coming months.
Reports also stated that 130,000 workers were not able to renew their visas due to inability to renew passports and Filipinos are included in the number and are household workers. Ambassador Lomondot urged all Filipinos to take this opportunity to avail the services and thanked Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Kuwait Paralympic Committee. Philippine Vice Consul Adrian Baccay furthermore explained that walk in applicants only include those for passport renewal, extension and release and the rest of the other services can be availed via appointment system on line: http://kuwaitpe.setmore.com
The temporary premises of the Philippine Embassy is located at Street 3 and Block 3 of Sabah Al Salem area while its new embassy is located in Messilah area and currently undergoing construction.
