03 February 2022 Business

The Kuwaiti Farmers Union and the Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) signed a contract on Thursday to deliver quantities of urea fertiliser to be sold in the local market. According to a press release from PIC, the contract covers the provision of 75 tonnes of urea (granular) as a start of partnership, starting in February and March of this year, at a reasonable shipping and transportation cost. It goes on to say that the contract is part of a larger collaboration and affirms the company's commitment to agriculture and local farmers.

It said that the business had approached Bahrain's National Corporation for Chemical Fertilizers to ship and transports the urea product (granular) from the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company facility to create fertilisers in Bahrain at a reasonable rate. PIC Director of Fertilizer Marketing and Supply Operations Abeer Marafi signed the deal, while Muhammad Al-Otaibi, the Kuwait Farmers Union's president, signed it on behalf of the Kuwait Farmers Union.
