Passport Officer Helps Egyptian On Travel Ban List To Leave Country - Moi

Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of a passport officer for facilitating the departure of a wanted Egyptian expatriate from the country despite a number of travel bans issued against him. The General Department for Residency Security affiliated to the Citizenship and Passport Affairs Sector received information that an Egyptian expatriate who is wanted by law for non-payment of a debt worth about KD 65,000 managed to leave the country via Kuwait International Airport even though seven travel bans were issued against him by Ministry of Justice.

Officers from the department launched investigations and addressed the Interpol concerning the whereabouts of the suspect. They discovered that the suspect reached Egypt via the United Arab Emirates. They checked the passport section of Kuwait International Airport and identified the passport officer who allowed the suspect to leave the country. They arrested the officer and referred him to the Public Prosecution for investigations. A case has been filed against him.
