Part To Launch Rainwater Drainage Project For Completion And Maintenance
It is anticipated that the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport will launch a project at the start of next December to develop, complete, and manage rainwater drainage systems for the residential areas of Sabah Al-Ahmad, South Sabah Al-Ahmad, Al-Khairan residential, and Al-Wafra.
The project's estimated 48-month implementation period is the result of a public tender with the goals of providing new residential areas' residents with high-quality services, ensuring their safety during downpours through regular rainwater drainage, and preventing some areas from flooding, either within the region or in surrounding areas. Its aims to protect the environment and prevent stagnation in residential areas southeast of Kuwait, as well as to serve the current new development areas, which are the Sabah Al-Ahmad residential, south and east of Sabah Al-Ahmad, and Al-Khairan. Rainwater is carried in independent networks for draining purposes only.
The Public Authority for Housing Welfare will create a concrete pipe as part of the work to drain rainwater from the gathering tanks and transport it to the sea at the Nuwaiseeb discharge point. In addition to 3 basins to collect rainwater in the Wafra, Sabah Al-Ahmad, and South Sabah Al-Ahmad residential districts, the sewer is anticipated to be 73 km long.
