Part Announced Opening Of The Land Section Of The Dohalink
The Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART) announced Monday the opening of the land section of the Dohalink of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway.
Acting Director of PART Suha Ashkanani said in a press conference that the project comes in accordance with international standards, and aims to link Doha area with Shuwaikh area from the beginning of Al- Ghazali Bridge to ease traffic congestion. She added that the 4.7 kilometer-long land section serves an army camp and the Doha area. For his part, project director Mohammad Abdeen said that a 12.4-kilometer bridge across the south of Kuwait would link Shuwaikh Port with the Doha motorway.
The Doha-link cost around KD 165.7 million (around USD 545 million). Meanwhile, in an unrelated development, the electronic communication system has been adopted by the official bodies to speed completion of work and reduce the time period for correspondence and archiving documents, in addition to minimizing the documentary course and the development of work in the ministries, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Despite the protection provided by the concerned bodies to these systems, they are sometimes exposed to breakthroughs, although the cases are limited, thanks to high-efficiency protection programs.
Informed sources told the daily the program is not free of obstacles, including the failure to apply it fully in some sectors of ministries and state institutions, because some officials take a long time to complete work or copy documents coming from the financial or administrative sectors.
Performance
The Director General of the Central Information Technology Agency Qusay Shatti said electronic messaging contributed to the efficiency of performance after the suspension of manual correspondences in 88 official bodies that adopted electronic correspondence between them between the main and subsidiary companies.
Al-Shatti told the daily the government information systems are highly protected and from any attacks. “We are continuously developing the communications and we use the Kuwait Information Network with a high level of security,” said Shatti.
Al-Shatti pointed out that any comments or complaints from government bodies on the program are dealt with and rectified immediately. He added that there is a working team and a specialized office working around the clock to keep pace with the government agencies, stressing the number of complaints is very low. He added the experience of e-mail has been successful since its application in 2017 and has become a key and effective means among all government agencies, and helped to speed up the completion of transactions, which increased significantly and clearly.
