Parliament Speaker Underlines Importance Of Cooperation To Meet Kuwaiti Aspirations

The National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, who won the presidency of the parliament for the 16th legislative session, stressed Tuesday on the importance of cooperation with everyone to meet the aspirations of the Kuwaiti people. During the first ordinary session held earlier today, Al-Ghanim thanked the MPs who voted in favor of him for the presidency elections, and those who voted against him, feeling pity for the burden he would take.

“I will talk to you as the Speaker of this Parliament, who faced and suffered from abuse and kept silent, relying on God Almighty”, Al-Ghanim affirmed. This came in respect to the Kuwaiti people who allowed me to inter this Parliament against with such rate of votes, and in respect to the instructions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and also in respect to the MPs, as personal quarrels will not serve our country or people.
