Parliament Approves Frontline Workers Reward Bill

The National Assembly approved a bill on Thursday to add appropriations for the ministries and government bodies’ budgets for the fiscal year (2020- 2021) regarding the frontline workers fighting the coronavirus pandemic rewards.

According to the Parliamentary Budget and Final Account Committee report, the first article of the draft law said that an additional appropriation shall be added in the ministries and government institutions budgets for the fiscal year 2020-2021 at an amount of KD 600 million (USD two billion) from the Ministry of Finance budget.

The draft law included a number of restrictions to ensure the payment goes to those who deserve it, whose cases are mentioned in Cabinet Resolution No. (686) of 2020.
