Pam Executed Peaceful Protest Against Mosal Decision
Several inspectors at the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) recently executed a peaceful protest in the premises of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development to communicate their displeasure to the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The inspectors complained about their inclusion in the fingerprint attendance system, which they regarded as an additional burden— considering the nature of their job. They urged the minister to exempt them from the fingerprint attendance system in line with Article 4 of Decision No. 41/2006. They emphasized their job is on the field outside the place of work and covers all parts of Kuwait, which includes suburbs along the borders, as well as farming locations and oil installation areas.
;They reiterated their assignments sometimes extend beyond working hours. The Parliamentary Inquiry Committee on the issue of container smuggling will discuss during a meeting the finalization of its report and submit it to the National Assembly, including negligence on the part of the former director-general of General Customs Department, reports Al-Rai daily quoting parliamentary sources.
The sources revealed the charge of negligence will be based mainly on the information received by the committee during the period of investigation, including “the failure of the former director to form a commission of inquiry in the case of container smuggling, after knowing about the theft of the container from the Shuwaikh Port which resulted in the container being smuggled out of the port without the goods being inspected.” The sources explained the former administration of customs “did not decide to install surveillance cameras at the gate of the port except after the formation of the investigation committee.”
