3,690 Companies Committed Violations During Coronavirus

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) revealed that its inspection teams carried out inspections of 26,877 commercial establishments during the coronavirus crisis, 22,219 establishments were issued an official warning, as well as 3,690 had violations recorded against them and 440 were handed closure orders, for violating health requirements outlined by the Council of Ministers, Al Qabas reports.

Approximately 1083 labor residences and work sites were also inspected. A campaign was carried out to visit 353 residential buildings with 4,6085 workers, of which 120 residential buildings were found with violations, in addition to 76 housing centers for workers of cooperative societies, and an inspection of 16 camps.

Inspection teams also looked into the work sites for laborers in open places at noon time, and has uncovered approximately 479 workers working in the afternoon period when the work ban was in place. The 318 companies have been notified to avoid breaching the law, and 287 companies have responded, in cooperation with the authorities to follow the decision to ban work at noon time, which will end on August 31.
