Pai Chief Says Visit Aims At Boosting Knowledge On Russia Industries

The Public Authority for Industry (PAI) Director General Abdulkareem Taqi said on Saturday that his visit to Russia aims at boosting knowledge on Russia's industrial experience.

Taqi made his remarks to KUNA, after arriving in the city of Ekaterinburg to participate in the first meeting with Russian Federation and GCC countries' ministers, on the sideline of the International Industry exhibition (INNOPROM-2017).

Taqi added that his visit also comes to activate bilateral agreements between the two countries, including exchange of experience and information.

The Kuwaiti official noted that his interests also to get acquainted with the Russian industrial achievements in various fields, including electronic waves, medicine, food, petrochemicals, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Taqi added that Kuwait is very much keen on developing its industrial capabilities, increase exports, enter the Russian market, and achieve growth between the two nations because the current level of growth is very modest.

"Kuwait is also keen on bringing foreign investments and participate in establishing industrial zones in the country," Taqi said. Upon arrival, Taqi was received by Russia Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Alexy Kuznetsov.

The Kuwaiti delegation is also due to meet next Monday with Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Eftekhov. INNOPROM-2017 fair is due to take place from July 9-10 and will bring together 640 industrial companies from 17 countries.
