Paci Working On New Mechanism
The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) is working on a new mechanism for the public to visit its premises, while ensuring strict compliance with the preventive measures in place to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Sources revealed the authority will start receiving visitors, including those who will get their Civil ID cards, two weeks from now as per the schedule set by the Council of Ministers. Sources said the dates for completion of any transaction, such as getting the Civil ID cards, will be announced soon.
On the ‘Kuwait Mobile ID’ application, sources disclosed the authority sent a circular about the application to the Central Bank of Kuwait seeking for approval to use the mobile ID in banking transactions. Sources added the application has yet to be approved for travel as the procedures for entry and exit from Kuwait International Airport are under the jurisdiction of the Interior Ministry.
Asked about the groups not covered by the application, sources said the children below five years old and domestic workers are among the groups that do not have electronic Civil ID.
It is expected that the number of visitors who will get their Civil IDs will range from 800,000 to one million – an average of 9,000 cards per day which was PACI’s target rate of ID issuance before the crisis.
With national hands, and a sum not exceeding KD 400, Ministry of Education launched its educational training platform for twelfth grade students, under the supervision and monitoring of 7,267 pedagogues, consisting of directors, heads of departments and teachers.
