Paci Database Link To Moi Will Expedite Arrests Of Wanted Persons

06 November 2018 Kuwait

A security source stressed on the importance of the step taken by the government to affiliate the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) to the Ministry of Interior under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, saying the decision constitutes an advanced step to share the database of citizens and expatriates with the Ministry, reports Al-Rai daily.

The source added the database of PACI is one of the most important references that can be relied upon to identify the person and know their residential addresses, particularly that of the expatriates. Linking the data to the Ministry of Interior will contribute to the consolidation of information of both citizens and residents.

This is seen as the beginning of moving towards the automation system and e-transactions — the electronic renewal of residence permits and other transactions.

The source pointed out the linking of the database will also expedite the arrests of wanted persons, prosecute people wanted by law and help identify suspects in just a few moments, which usually took several hours or days in terms of long procedures such as correspondence between the two parties.

The source added this link between the two sides is also important to address the imbalance in demographic structure and to identify ‘bachelor’ expatriates living in model areas in violation of the law. Undoubtedly, this exercise will bring fruitful results especially in terms combating residence traffickers and violators of residence laws
