Paci Announces 1.6 Million Registered On Kuwait Mobile Id App
Around 1.6 million citizens and expats signed up to the Kuwait Mobile ID app until yesterday, in a positive step towards digital transformation of the public services, which includes being able to conduct transactions online, and move towards the goal of converting all procedures to e-government services, the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) said in a statement, Al Rai reported.
Informed sources in PACI said that its success in registering this number of citizens and expats on the app was to follow up on the Cabinet’s decision to oblige government agencies to approve online processes when conducting all types of transactions, without showing the original civil ID, which helps to save effort, time, and ensure safety in conducting transactions especially during the exceptional circumstances the country is going through. The source added that by automatically linking various Government agencies with PACI, this general approach and strategy would enable the authority to completely dispense with the regular card, and instead rely entirely on the digital civil id.
The sources indicated that the subscriber to the app can benefit by being allowed to travel to the Gulf countries, and for citizens, they do not require a passport or the original civil id card. He called on everyone to benefit from the application.
The source stated that the office is operational to those who wish to receive their civil ID card from 8 am to 4 pm, during the blessed month of Ramadan while on normal days, timings are until six in the evening.
