Overall 47,022 Travel Ban Orders Were Issued In 2021
According to statistics released by the Ministry of Justice's Information Technology and Statistics Sector, which is led by Assistant Undersecretary Sayed Hashim Al-Qallaf, the total number of travel restrictions and arrests reached 110,991 in 2021, up 34,500 procedures and 45.1% from the previous year, when it stood at 76,491.

According to statistics, there were 47,022 orders for travel bans in 2021, accounting for 42.4% of all proceedings, while there were 29,158 orders for the restriction to be lifted, making up 26.3% of all procedures. A local Arabic daily claims that this is in addition to the overall number of procedures, which rose from 63,580 in 2020 to 69,894 in 2021, or 9.9%.
