Officials Who Are Unqualified Refuse To Retire Or Resign

20 August 2022 Kuwait

A number of state agency employees were found to be unfit for duty after supervisory investigations revealed that they engaged in workplace irregularities as well as were underproductive in their positions. Additionally, these individuals were found to be engaging in serious administrative irregularities, particularly with regard to nominations requiring parliamentary clearances and interventions prior to the National Assembly's dissolution.

According to Arabic-language reports, the involved officials declined to submit their retirement or resignation papers. According to the request of the responsible ministers, the abovementioned officials were required to take a two-month leave of absence until official decisions were made regarding their case, including whether to carry out more investigations, recommend their retirement, or permit them to keep their jobs.
