Officers Raided Two Bogus Domestic Recruitment Agencies

Officers from the Residency Affairs Department raided two bogus domestic recruitment agencies that provided shelter and jobs for runaway housemaids in violation of law. They arrested 7 Ethiopians and 9 Asians respectively from the two offices.

Statement added the sector received a tip-off about the activities of two bogus domestic recruitment bureaus specialized in cheating citizens and expatriates by giving jobs to runaway housemaids on wages.

Officers discovered the two agencies have licenses to practice business, but in reality, their offices aren’t licensed. Details of the suspects indicated they’d violated residency law and they’re wanted for various offenses. All suspects have since been referred to concerned authorities.
