No Truth In Reports About Cancelling Civil Id Card For Expats, Clarifies Paci

There is no truth in the news items appeared last week on various media about the move to cancel the civil ID card for expatriates and restricting its issuance to citizens only, PACI clarifies.

The authority stated in a press release on Sunday that civil cards are issued to Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis in accordance with Article 14 of Law No. 32 of 1982 regarding the Civil Information System, which stipulated that the authority issues a card for every person registered in the civil information system. Governmental and non-governmental agencies approve this card as a proof of the identity of its owner.
